2022 Budget update


County Council receives an update on the 2022 Business Plan and Budget process on June 9. Special Council meetings to deliberate the County’s 2022 Budget will take place:

Wednesday, November 17 – 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 24 – 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The budget will be considered for approval at the regularly scheduled County Council meeting on Wednesday, December 8 at 9:30 a.m.

The report to Council also outlines plans for the 2022 Budget Survey, a partnership activity among Oxford’s municipalities. The survey opens June 9 pending Council approval and closes on August 31, 2021. The last time the survey was carried out in 2018 there were 655 responses and more than 1,000 individual comments and suggestions. The 2022 Budget survey will be available online at www.oxfordcounty.ca/speakup.

Green Fleet Plan


A report update on Oxford County’s Green Fleet Plan shows the County cut fleet greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 9.3% between 2014 and 2019 (226 tonnes CO2e). With Council approval of the proposed 2021-2025 Green Fleet Plan, the County will be well positioned to surpass its 2025 target to reduce GHG emissions by 14.1% over 2015 base year levels. Key projects undertaken so far to reduce the carbon footprint of fleet operations include introducing a corporate fleet anti-idling policy, fleet rationalization, and replacing gas-powered County vehicles with “green” vehicles run by alternative fuels/electric power. The Green Fleet Plan is part of the ongoing implementation of the County’s 100% Renewable Energy (RE) Plan.
