Zorra Now | Fall 2023 21 TOWNSHIP DEPARTMENT INFORMATION Council was honoured to present Tony Redix with the 2023 Senior of the Year Award! Tony gives back to his community on a daily basis. You probably recognize him from the Lions Catch the Ace fundraiser where he energizes and excites the community with his fun videos each week. Tony has been a member of the Thamesford Lions Club since 2006, and is a Past President of the Club. Along with the Lions, Tony has also been the President of the Thamesford Trojans Hockey Club for many years. In this role, his valuable leadership and experience has contributed to great success for the Club. Tony is an extremely valuable member of the community! Congratulations to the 2023 Volunteer of the Year Award Winner John Turvey. For a number of years, John has been volunteering with both the Dinner Theatre and Thistle Theatre groups in Embro. He is currently the Thistle Theatre Board President, where he is involved in all the print media announcements and reports, among many other things! Along with the theatre groups, John is also heavily involved with Embro Soccer and is also the Thistle liaison for the new pavilion group.
