TROJANS NEWS Wow! The Trojans won their first eleven game straight getting them to first place in the whole PJHL with 3 other teams out of 64 teams. Oops; then the wheels fell off when they fell to Port Stanley on Halloween night. This is Jr. Hockey, but like I have said before, this is a tough division and if you don’t bring your “A” game you can lose to anyone. Fortunately, the team seems to have turned things around in spite of the fact that we are experiencing injuries and illness. The team has depth and speed and this is the result of good scouting and great coaching. We are very pleased with the attendance this year and when the weather gets colder outside we should have the heaters turned on to make it comfy. The Thamesford Lions have licensed the arena and if you are one who likes to have a beer while watching the game, the Lions will be glad to serve. The Lions also operate the arena canteen and by the looks of the orders of fries and chicken fingers, it is well attended. For those of you who have not been to one of our games lately may I suggest that you get a group of friends together and come out to a game, have a beer and some fries, sit back and enjoy a real live hockey game. Get excited! Families are most welcome. This year we have young local skaters carrying the Canada flag and Trojans flag around the ice prior to the National Anthem. If your child is interested in being a flag bearer, they can enter their name in our weekly draw. Child must be between 6-12 years of age and must be registered with any local skating organization (minor hockey, skating, etc.). Check out our schedule in the Village Voice or online at the PJHL (Provincial Jr. Hockey League) website. We are in the Yeck division. Like our Facebook page “Thamesford Trojans Hockey Club” for all the team news and updates. Hope to see you at a game and as usual keep your head up and stick on the ice.
