TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY INFORMATION TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY INFORMATION 26 Zorra Now | Winter 2024 Zorra Now | Winter 2024 27 Council was honoured to present Dick Dufton with the 2024 Senior of the Year Award! Dick has been a volunteer with the Thamesford Lions Club for many years and has been involved in many Lions projects, including the river cleanup, Christmas parade, and park maintenance. You can also catch Dick helping out almost weekly with the Catch-the-Ace draw on Tuesday nights. He puts his services as a handyman to good use in the community, including helping with the erecting of the Harvey Beaty Memorial sign. Dick is an extremely valuable member of the community! Congratulations to the 2024 Volunteer of the Year Award Winner Nicole Barnett! Nicole has volunteered with many groups including the 4-H Club, Embro Fair, Oxford County Federation of Agriculture, and Embro & Zorra Agricultural Society. Nicole truly enjoys investing her time in her community and helping others. She has spearheaded a car show at the Embro Fair, in memory of her son Nash, to help draw in more attendees, support her hometown fair, and to raise funds for various charities that matter to our community. Nicole, thank you for doing your part and making the community a better place!
