2 Zorra Now | Spring 2025 Zorra Now | Spring 2025 3 Message from the Mayor So much has changed since I last wrote for the Winter Zorra Now. A provincial election, a federal election next week, and a US Presidential election, we are entering a period of change. While international relations, trade, tariffs, and the economy may face challenges, Zorra’s strong financial management over the past years has positioned our municipality well to navigate these times. The Township will also be impacted directly or indirectly by tariffs and costs will go up. We are committed to minimizing future impact on residents and will work diligently to manage costs effectively. Our proactive approach ensures that we can adapt and continue to provide essential services to our community. Together, we will weather these changes and emerge even stronger. At times like this a small community(s) like Zorra can be a strength. We need to pull together, shop local, support each other. Buy from your neighbour, and look out for them. For Zorra Council, like you, the challenges have changed; so we will change to meet them, but the goal is the same: let’s prioritize a vibrant, prosperous, engaged, and environmentally conscious community. #Canada #elbowsup As always, feel free to contact me on any issue: Marcus Ryan Mayor, Zorra Township (and Warden, Oxford County) email: mryan@zorra.ca Phone: 1.519.425.2338 Zorra Now Magazine is published electronically and paper copies are available at all Township Facilities.
