Deputy Chief Wallace brings more than 20 years of fire service experience and a strong commitment to leadership, firefighter safety, training, and community service. As part of a proud multigenerational fire service family, he is well known for his collaborative approach, professionalism, and dedication to continuous improvement. In addition to his municipal fire service experience, Deputy Chief Wallace also serves with the London International Airport as a Firefighter and Team Lead, bringing valuable expertise in specialized and high-risk emergency response operations. The establishment of the Shared Deputy Fire Chief position represents a continued commitment by both Townships to enhancing fire service leadership, operational resilience, and long-term succession planning. Does everyone know what to do and where you will meet if you are not together when an emergency takes place? Work as a family to prepare an emergency kit if you don't already have one or use the time to check your emergency supplies to make sure you have key items on hand and that the items inside are not expired. BE AWARE OF SCHOOL EMERGENCY PROCEDURES Make sure you read information from the school about their plan for emergencies, emergency procedures and alternate locations should an emergency take place. Check that the school has current emergency contact information for your children. This includes work, mobile and home telephone numbers. DO YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY PLAN It will take you about 20 minutes to make a family emergency plan. Work as a family to discuss the following, then record them as part of your plan: Safe exits from home and neighbourhood Meeting places to reunite with family or roommates Designated person to pick up children should you be unavailable Contact persons close-by and out-of-town Health and insurance information Places for your pet to stay Risks in your region Location of your fire extinguisher, water valve, electrical panel, gas valve and floor drain Get Prepared Back to School BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY AND PLANNING FOR EMERGENCIES
