The group is now an official Committee of Council, enabling them to raise funds and provide recommendations to Council on the scope of project and location of the dog park. Committee members are Chair Diane Normand, Councillor Crystal Finch, Carys Wyn Hughes, Emily Moitoso, Deb Baker and Teighan Morris. Contact: embrodogpark@gmail.com EMBRO MINOR BASEBALL - MATHESON PARK MINI PITCH Council approved EMBA’s grant proposal to support the construction of a new mini-pitch baseball diamond behind Matheson Park in Embro. The new mini-pitch diamond will provide a dedicated, age-appropriate space for younger players to learn baseball fundamentals in a safe and fun environment. This project supports EMBA’s commitment to growing minor baseball and expanding recreational opportunities for local families. Construction is expected to take place this Spring in time for the upcoming baseball season! EMBA is seeking sponsors for the project. ZORRA MULTI-USE COURTS COMMITTEE The location of the multi-courts site in the new Kingwood development is seeing progress with grading work nearly complete and initial servicing commencing this Spring. The Request for Proposal will be issued this Spring, with construction to follow. Located centrally within town, these courts will be easily walkable and surrounded by nearby amenities, including soccer fields and a community gymnasium planned as part of the new elementary school.
